As more startups have called St. Louis home in the past decade, the breadth of the region’s entrepreneurial economy has expanded.
Our inaugural 2022 Startups to Watch program spotlights the expanding scope of startups that dot the St. Louis region. It profiles companies focused on a range of industries, including renewable energy, software, consumer goods, agriculture and health care. What binds these 10 companies together is their ambition for innovation and change, highlighted by their innovative products and disruptive business models.
Our 2022 Startups to Watch feature is far from a comprehensive list of local startups worth keeping an eye on, but it provides a snapshot of how early stage companies are making progress in St. Louis.
In choosing the companies featured in our 2022 Startups to Watch list, we focused on earlier stage startups — most of which were founded within the past five years — that have raised less than $25 million in investment since their launch. We compiled our list based on our own reporting and recommendations from within the St. Louis startup community. The final selections were chosen by the St. Louis Inno and St. Louis Business Journal editorial team.
As part of our 2022 Startups to Watch feature, we’ve written profiles on each of the 10 companies honored. You can access the profiles, and a Q&A with three venture investors on what makes a startup worth watching, by clicking on the story link.
BioGenerator portfolio companies CoverCress, Plastomics, and SentiAR made the list, along with BioGenerator grantee Rebundle.
