St. Louis Character: Cheryl Watkins-Moore helps entrepreneurs find their footing

Get to know Cheryl Watkins-Moore, BioSTL's Director of the STEM Entrepreneur Inclusion Initiative, in this feature in the St. Louis Business Journal.

When Cheryl Watkins-Moore started working in the St. Louis startup community, she discovered the path for minority entrepreneurs wasn’t smooth.

“I thought if I'm having a challenge, for anybody else coming into this, this must be amazingly challenging for them,” she said.

Today, Watkins-Moore is director of BioSTL's STEM Entrepreneur Inclusion Initiative, which promotes equity in the local startup sector. A podiatrist by training, Watkins-Moore has a long background in the health care industry. Her previous roles include Baxter Healthcare, biotech startup Biora Inc. and Merck Millipore.

In addition to her job at BioSTL, Watkins-Moore is chief strategy and marketing officer at medical marijuana startup Real Cannabis Co.
