GlobalSTL, the international recruitment arm of BioSTL, connected the St. Louis VA and Israeli company Uniper Care, a digital health and wellness platform used to address social isolation in seniors.
GlobalSTL sourced the innovation and introduced the VA to Uniper Care during 2019's GlobalSTL Health Innovation Summit. This is the second Israeli company to land a deal with the VA following the Summit.
Uniper Care turns a TV, tablet/desktop, or cell phone into an interactive platform that provides both telehealth services and mental health and wellness care for users.
Preventing declines in Veteran emotional and physical well-being is a high priority for the VA. Social isolation and decreased mobility are both predetermining factors of depression, anxiety, falls and insomnia. VA St. Louis Healthcare System chose a partnership with Uniper to offer accessible virtual connections with other Veterans and VA healthcare staff.
